Datuk Saddi Abdul Rahman retain KPD Chairman post

Rural Development Corporation (KPD) is on the right track and its chairman, Datuk Saddi Abdul Rahman, is optimistic that they would continue to move to greater heights.

Disclosing that KPD’s performance had improved over the years, he said the organisation hoped to pay its dividend to the government in the near future to show appreciation for the contribution in the past.

“I must say that KPD has improved compared to the past and we are looking at expanding our businesses which would benefit the members as well as the state. We are working hard to develop the existing programmes through value adding as well as creating new ones,” he said.

He gave examples like the shitake mushroom which is being developed in Ranau, stressing that a big portion are being exported to countries like Japan and Korea, to mention a few, while some are channeled to meet local demand.

“This is also in line with Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak’s call to ensure that all government-owned companies perform well for the good of the people and nation,” he said.
Saddi told reporters this after receiving his letter of appointment from Deputy Chief Minister Datuk Seri Panglima Yahya Hussin to retain him as the KPD chairman
